I hope you get exactly what you want out of it and are glad you took the ride. Azeryk -- Thank you! I've found that those stories work best when I can get to the atrocity sequences as organically as possible. Trying to shoehorn a narrative into a prearranged index of shock sequences is less likely to satisfy. "Damaged Goods" is much more of a vignette rather than a real story because the "highlights" were pre-planned for maximum effect. I tried to do things differently after that. Shane -- Cool! I hope you enjoy the book whenever you get to check it out, and I appreciate your interest! Christine -- There is a lot of that kind of thing in there, isn't there? I really wonder about what was going on in my head back then. But I'm all better now! ...Yeah, maybe not. I hope you're getting at least some amusement out of all of it, haha.

I want to try to come up with something to send to the Into the Darkness anthology before July. I haven't written a brand new short story in years, so I have to relearn the discipline. Good luck! Thanks! I didn't stop writing in all the years since the last story in the book was written, but it was spent on different kinds of stories. I'll be trying to come up with some new things that will interest the people who enjoy the extreme horror of something like Genital Grinder, though. It's a big motivator to know people are seeking it of me!

We're in the middle of doing another revision of the finished one and hopefully we'll see about getting it released sometime soon. I think I have seen virtually every Giallo film ever made, including many Neo-Giallo, may very well be one of my favorite sub-genres next to Italian cannibal films and anything staring Barry Prima. Keep me/us posted if you ever get it out there I'd really like to read it.

Posts: 65 Apr 26 12 8:16 PM	I love giallo films. The obvious stuff like Bava, Argento, Fulci, and the somewhat more obscure Martino, Lenzi, Ercoli offerings. It just doesn't get any better than a black-gloved killer. I had an Italian cannibal type story years ago that didn't quite live up to what I wanted. Might revisit someday, though. Barry Prima ... I don't know how anyone can argue that The Devil's Sword isn't one of the most awesome movies ever made. Soon as the guy surfed down to the village on a huge rock and smashed some guy to death, I knew I was witnessing genius. R.H.

Posts: 21 Apr 29 12 9:26 AM	I'm about halfway through the book at the moment. I don't think I can recall reading anything quite like this. The closest thing that come to mind is Stokoe's COWS and even that is a stretch. I do have to interject with a comment here before I'm finished reading. I was on the story Genital Grinder and very mesmerized by the action taking place. I hit the line "Greg... cheese grater." and I had to stop. I had to sit up straight, close the cover and just stop reading. I was simply left mentally unable to continue reading. I knew where it was going. Everyone knew where it was going but I just needed a breath and some mental preparation to continue with that. I LOVE when a book evokes an outward physical response. Laughing, head shakes, crying and the like but I can't remember ever having to put a book down to mentally prepare for what comes next. It was awesome. Thank you. My friend and I just started a podcast and this will be the next book we review. My co-host has already read it and assured me he is nearly embarrassed to have to discuss this book in such a public manner but he will. I'm not nearly done with the book but I am quite certain this will make for one interesting discussion. I'll post the link here in a week or so when it's recorded and up. Thanks ahead of time for such a unique read!

You may be able to find similar moments from other authors on Deadite, most notably Edward Lee. Certainly give him a try sometime if you never have. His work was a big influence on my stories. In other good news, the sequel to "Genital Grinder" is arguably way more over the top, so you have that to look forward to, haha. Posts: 21 May 3 12 2:46 PM	Still have a tiny bit left to finish off GENITAL GRINDER but I can assure it won't be a bad review. I discovered Deadite, like many others, via Brain Keene. I've since ready a bunch of Deadite's stuff. They can sell me books on the covers alone! I have NOT got to Edward Lee yet and I feel that's actually a crime on some level. I've read from the snippet in your bio that he is a major reason why your here with Deadite. Though I haven't had exposure to Lee I have read Laymon and I feel there is influence from him as well. So as a newbie to Edward Lee (again, major crime) what book would you recommend as a great jumping off point? The one I keep eyeing up is Trolley 1852. We will be recording the podcast in the coming week hopefully I can have it up in about a weeks time. Talk to ya'll soon and thanks for keeping me uncomfortable!

I did indeed first discover Ryan Harding through the chapbook PARTNERS IN CHYME that was split with Edward Lee. GENITAL GRINDER was Harding's story and it's been stuck in my brain ever since. One of my personal objectives with Deadite was to get out a Ryan Harding collection and more horror fans needed to read his extreme stories. In terms of Edward Lee, if you like Ryan Harding you NEED to check out Edward Lee. It's more sadistic hardcore horror. Lee is in my top five authors of all-time and was the first author I worked with on Deadite. For the Deadite releases I highly recommend BRAIN CHEESE BUFFET. It's a collection hardcore short fiction and is basically (baring two or three stories we couldn't get) a best-of for his short fiction. THE HAUNTER OF THE THRESHOLD is, by Lee's on omission, his most pornographic novel ever written. Necro is Lee's other main publisher and they do amazing work as well (they were the biggest influence on how I run Deadite). THE PIG AND THE HOUSE is my personal favorite Edward Lee book. I also highly recommend THE BIGHEAD. It's his most popular fan favorite work. This message has been endorsed by Jeff Burk

There's quite a bit I haven't seen myself, for that matter, and I need to catch up to some more soon. Good thing there's Mondo Macabro. Sinister, the Lee titles Jeff recommended are definitely good ones. I know Deadite has HEADER in the pipeline, which is a must, and once you've had the "pleasure" of that one, I think HEADER 2 is his best extreme book. I was almost crying laughing over that one. Great stuff. I'll be looking for the podcast update! I have not actually read Trolley yet, but I do have it. His Lovecraftian tales are usually very inspired. --R.H.

So stupid though in my defence I have something on the order of 75 books waiting to be read on there it's hard to keep track of. You get BET Haunter just moved it's ass way up the 'To Be Read' list. We will be recording the podcast in a few days and I hope to have it up before next weekend. I'm stoked that you guys are eager to check it out. Our first two episodes can be found at: Books, Beer and Bullshit if you want listen to what we've done so far. We covered Brian Keene's THE CAGE first, it was a logical jumping off point for the two of us. We're still working it all out, letting the show find it's true form but those two episode are the gist of it. I'm going to have to push for a podcast review of Edward Lee in the future no doubt. For now it's all about GENITAL GRINDER can't wait to lay down our audio chyme (my new favorite word) on this beauty!
